Why and How Should I Read the Bible?

The Bible is the world’s best selling book. It is so popular that it isn’t even included on the bestselling lists because it would be at the top of the list every week, every month and every year. This may come as a surprise to some. It appears that science and the Bible are in conflict and as our society has a deep passion for science and technology, surely science is dominating? So, if its' battle for relevance and attention has been lost, why is the Bible still a best-selling book? The reality is science and faith should not be in conflict. Albert Einstein once said, “A legitimate conflict between science and religion cannot exist. Religion without science is blind and science without religion is lame.” Both are required to develop a holistic understanding of reality. In simple terms it has been said that science answers the questions “how?” and “when?” On the other hand, faith answers the questions “who?” and “why?” So if the Bible contains a whole realm of vital knowledge not explored in our scientific culture, how do we go about reading it? How do we get the most out of it? Tune in as we talk further about how and why we should read the Bible.
